Article We Love 📝

Josh writes about all the ways he tries to humanize technology in his amazing newsletter invisible ink, but this piece particularly stuck out to me.

“You are your attention.” What else is there? When you think about it like that, reclaiming your time from your phone rises to a spiritual level. It simply elevates who you truly are when you’re not a slave to your phone.

This article provides a clear framework on how you can control your attention, and direct it to the places you want to. And when you can do that, the possibilities are endless.

Stop Scrolling. Start Living.

Tip to Reduce Your Screen Time 📱

Do a Guided Breathing Exercise

Much of the time, when we grab our phone, it’s because there is this anxious hum in the back of our minds that tells our brain “just give me some stimulation, anything.”

We’re distracted by a million things, and the rhythm of life is going at 200 bpm.

One way to calm that anxious hum is to do some breath work. Your breath is the basis of everything, and it’s incredible how much you can control your physical, mental, and emotional self by just controlling your breathing.

A super simple and effective one is box breathing.

Quote That Has Us Thinking 🧠

“The quality of one's life depends on the quality of attention. Whatever you pay attention to will grow more important in your life.” - Deepak Chopra
